County Judge Duties |
The County Judge is both the presiding officer of the Commissioners Court and the Judge of the County Court. Many people think of the County Judge as the chief executive official in county government, serving as the principal source of information and assistance. He is also known as a conservator of the peace for the county. The County Judge is considered by many the highest ranking county official who presents a remarkable combination of judicial and administrative functions. The County Judge presides over all cases involving mental health commitments in Liberty County. The County Judge may represent the county on all state and federal issues that may arise that directly affect Liberty County. |
