The County Auditor is a position that is appointed by the District Judge’s. The County Auditor’s duty is primarily to oversee the financial record keeping for the County. The Auditor has continuous access to all financial records and can review all of the County’s operations.

The County's financial administration is entrusted to the Auditor and the Commissioners’ Court by a dual control system of checks and balances.

The Auditor maintains the integrity of financial administration of County government and has general oversight of all financial records of all the County officials and strictly enforces the laws governing each office.
